Experienced 2D FX Supervisor

We are now on the hunt for experienced FX Supervisor who will supervise and support the  FX team in Kilkenny and contribute to the production.  The dates you will be required is from 20th of April 2026 and the term of this contract will be until December 2026.

About the role

The FX Supervisor will lead the creation of final FX animation in Toon Boom Harmony, managing a team of FX artists to deliver high-quality work on schedule, while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What you'll be doing

Plan, prioritise, and allocate FX tasks to meet production schedules and creative requirements

Work closely with the Director to meet creative standards, assigning and managing tasks to maintain production targets.

Review and approve team tasks and communicate any issues to Production.

Provide technical guidance and support to the team, resolving workflow and pipeline issues as needed

Perform artistic tasks and use creative and technical problem-solving to create desired effects.

Support production as needed through Harmony compositing and related technical tasks to help meet deadlines.

Organise and manage the FX team’s work and files efficiently.

Ensure work is completed on schedule and to production standards for the team.

Communicate the progress of your team's work to the Production Manager and Production Coordinator.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure FX work integrates smoothly into the pipeline

Ensure quality and style of show is consistently achieved in FX animation work and that all notes/retakes are added.

Support and train junior crew members as needed.

Follow established procedures set by Lighthouse (i.e. file naming conventions and storage) according to the production's guidelines.

The above is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be asked to carry out other tasks.

What we're looking for

At least 3-5+ years of experience working as an FX Supervisor is required to apply for this role

Must be well versed in 2D hand drawn FX

Experience using Shotgrid/Flow is considered a plus

Expert knowledge in 2D Toon Boom Harmony is essential

Experience in After Effects is considered a plus

Fluent in English

Ability to communicate well in a fast-paced and creative environment

Must possess excellent time management skills with the utmost respect for deadlines

Be available on messaging systems and by emails during working hours

Must be willing to relocate to Kilkenny
