Job Description

Sika Canada, a subsidiary of the Sika Group, is a leader in the development and manufacture of specialty chemicals. In the field of construction, the company operates in markets such as concrete repair, maintenance, and protection, building finishing, shotcrete, tunnelling & mining, roofing, concrete admixtures, and flooring. It also serves the manufacturing industry (automotive, transportation equipment, etc.) with bonding and sealing, assembly and damping solutions specifically developed for these markets.

Sika Canada has operations in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia and employs more than 650 people in Canada.  The company is ISO 9001 - 14001 certified and a member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC).

Duration of the Internship: 12 to 16 Months

Intern will support the Technical Coordinator in the performance of the following:

• Provide customer support. Customers include Architects, Engineers, contractors, ownership, and distribution.
• Target and track projects using Construction Market Data tools, assisting with management of the sales pipeline.
• Interpret design intent and field conditions communicated through photos, CAD and sketched drawings.
• Communicate internally with technical support teams in preparation of submittal and manufacturing shop drawings.
• Generate quotes to bidders, working with sales team
• Work directly with customers and internal manufacturing on pending projects to ensure orders are accurate and project deadlines are closely met.
• Prepare project submittal packages and provide customers with warranty packages.
• Coordinate technical literature, sample fulfillment and other customer related functions.
• Receive customer orders, verify for accuracy and process with CSR in accordance with the established procedures.
• Follow up with internal logistics to ensure that products are delivered to the customers on time.
• Perform other related tasks as requested.

Technical & Academic

• Currently enrolled in Architectural Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Completion of foundational courses such as drafting, CAD, structures, or construction methods.
• Ability to interpret basic drawings, plans, or specifications (beginner level is fine).
• Basic understanding of building assemblies or construction processes.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Comfortable learning new software tools (e.g., CAD viewer, CRM, or mobile apps).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
