Job Description
The Executive Vice President of Strategic Development is a senior executive responsible for driving the company’s long-term growth strategy across transportation and logistics operations. This role leads enterprise-wide strategic planning, market expansion, strategic partnerships, and innovation initiatives to enhance competitive advantage, profitability, and scalability.
The EVP works closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities that align with the organization’s mission, operational capabilities, and financial objectives.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer
Serves as a key advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors
May have direct oversight of Strategy, Corporate Development, M&A, and/or Innovation teams
Lead Content and Media Strategy
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Enterprise Growth
Lead the development and execution of the company’s long-term strategic plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics
Identify growth opportunities across new markets, customer segments, transportation modes, and service offerings
Evaluate industry trends, regulatory developments, technology advancements, and competitive positioning
Partner with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Technology leaders to translate strategy into actionable initiatives
Marketing, Brand Strategy & Market Visibility
Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for enterprise-wide marketing and brand strategy to increase company reach, visibility, and market influence
Oversee marketing initiatives including brand positioning, demand generation, thought leadership, and corporate communications
Ensure marketing strategies align with overall business growth objectives, customer acquisition goals, and market expansion initiatives
Partner with Sales, Operations, and external agencies to strengthen the company’s presence across key transportation and logistics markets
Live Podcast, Media & Content Strategy
Lead the strategic development and execution of live podcast programming and digital content initiatives to expand industry influence and brand awareness
Position the company and executive leadership as thought leaders
in transportation, logistics, supply chain, and related industries
Oversee content planning, audience growth strategy, production standards, distribution channels, and performance analytics for podcast and media initiatives
Identify opportunities to leverage live events, customer stories, industry trends, and executive insights through podcast and multimedia content
Ensure all content initiatives support recruiting, customer growth, partnerships, and overall brand reputation
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
Develop and manage strategic partnerships with customers, vendors, technology providers, and logistics partners
Negotiate high-impact partnership agreements that support growth, efficiency, and differentiation
Strengthen the company’s position within the transportation and logistics ecosystem
Innovation & Transformation
Champion innovation initiatives including digital transformation, automation, data analytics, and supply chain optimization
Assess emerging technologies and business models that may disrupt or enhance logistics operations
Drive enterprise transformation initiatives to improve scalability, efficiency, and customer experience
Leadership & Governance
Act as a strategic thought partner to the executive team and Board of Directors
Prepare and present strategic recommendations, business cases, and progress updates to senior leadership
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing strategy and development teams
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and forward-thinking leadership

Revenue and EBITDA growth from strategic initiatives
Success rate and ROI of M&A and partnership activity
Market expansion and diversification outcomes
Achievement of long-term strategic milestones

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field)
MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
Experience
15+ years of progressive leadership experience with significant responsibility in strategic development, corporate strategy, M&A, or business development
Proven experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or related industries
Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and transactions
Experience working with Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams
