The Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD) leads the public sector and works collaboratively both within government and with the community to achieve positive outcomes.
The Head of Service is responsible for the strategic oversight and leadership of the ACTPS. The Head of Service is also the Director-General CMTEDD.
The Executive Group Manager is a trusted, strategic role within the ACT Public Service, supporting the Head of Service and Director-General on sensitive and confidential matters. The position requires strong integrity, resilience, and expertise in governance, accountability, and risk management, while providing timely, high-quality advice across ACTPS and CMTEDD.
Operating with limited direction, the role requires flexibility, focus, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure within short timeframes. The role involves leading the Office of the Head of Service team, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and demonstrating exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $376,285 - $389,635 depending on the current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $333,737.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
