Within the Vice-rectorate for Academic Affairs, the Director of Quality and Accreditation is responsible for the institutional coordination, consistency and effective functioning of the University’s quality assurance and accreditation framework. The role ensures that academic programs and processes are fully aligned with Spanish higher education regulations and external evaluation requirements, and that the University’s Internal Quality Assurance System operates in a rigorous, reliable and sustainable manner.
The Director provides senior technical leadership and expert guidance on quality and accreditation matters, supporting the Vice-rector in the implementation of the academic strategy and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, transparency and accountability across the institution.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid - IE Tower.
Responsibilities:
Your role as Director of Quality and Accreditation will involve:
1. Institutional Coordination of Quality and Accreditation
Hold overall responsibility for the coordination and coherence of quality assurance and accreditation processes at institutional level.
Ensure the effective implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the University’s Internal Quality Assurance System.
Safeguard the consistency of criteria, processes and documentation across faculties, programs and academic units.
Identify regulatory, procedural or operational risks related to academic quality and accreditation and propose mitigation measures.
2. Regulatory and Accreditation Processes for Academic Programs
Oversee the validation, modification, monitoring and accreditation processes of official Bachelor, Master and Doctorate programs in all their phases.
Ensure that the design, development and review of official and private programs are regulatorily compliant, operationally feasible and academically coherent.
Coordinate the institutional annual monitoring processes of official programs, ensuring appropriate follow-up and documentation.
Provide expert input to program design and review processes, ensuring alignment with applicable regulations and external evaluation criteria.
3. Advisory and Support Role to Academic Structures
Advise Academic Directors, program teams and relevant departments on regulatory frameworks, accreditation standards and quality requirements.
Provide technical and regulatory analysis to support academic and institutional decision-making, in line with the academic strategy defined by the Vice-rectorate.
Assist the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs in matters related to quality assurance, accreditation and institutional reporting, as required.
4. External Relations with Authorities and Quality Agencies
Act as the University’s senior technical point of contact with public administrations and quality agencies (Ministry of Universities, regional authorities, ACSUCyL, Fundación Madri+D, etc.).
Coordinate and supervise the preparation and delivery of institutional data, reports and documentation requested by external bodies.
Ensure the University’s responses to external evaluations, audits and reviews are accurate, timely and consistent.
5. Data, Reporting and Evidence-Based Quality Processes
Oversee the collection, validation and consolidation of data required for quality assurance and accreditation processes.
Coordinate the preparation of institutional quality reports and contribute to the University Annual Report, ensuring reliability and clarity of academic data.
Promote the use of evidence to inform improvement actions at program and institutional level.
6. Internal Regulatory Framework
Coordinate the development, review and updating of internal academic regulations related to quality assurance and accreditation.
Ensure coherence between internal regulations, academic practices and external regulatory frameworks.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their operational impact on academic programs and processes.
7. Team Coordination and Functional Supervision
Provide functional leadership and supervision to the Quality and Accreditation team.
Ensure effective coordination between strategic priorities defined by the Vice-rectorate and the operational execution led by the Associate Director.
Foster shared standards, consistency of practice and professional development within the team.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Master’s degree.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in quality assurance, accreditation and academic management in higher education.
Solid experience working with educational authorities and quality agencies, preferably within the Spanish university system.
Deep knowledge of Spanish higher education regulations and the European Higher Education Area.
High proficiency in written Spanish for administrative and legal documentation; full professional fluency in English.
Strong coordination, analytical and institutional communication skills.
Ability to operate with sound judgment in complex, regulated academic environments.
