Job Description
Own outcomes. Bring structure. Make an impact.
About us:
Join WM New Zealand - a leader in sustainable waste management and innovation. With the largest composter, waste‑to‑energy operations, and commercial electric fleet in New Zealand, we’re transforming waste into opportunity.
We’re seeking a highly capable Executive Assistant to support senior leaders in a fast‑paced, outcome‑driven environment. This is a role for someone who thrives on accountability, brings order to complexity, and operates with confidence, judgement, and ownership.
You’ll play a critical role in keeping leaders focused on what matters most - anticipating needs, ensuring momentum, and driving follow‑through across priorities.
As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you’ll bring structure to competing demands, prepare high-quality materials, and ensure actions are delivered with precision.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing complex calendars, priorities, and meeting coordination
• Preparing professional, high-quality meeting papers and supporting materials
• Tracking actions and follow-ups to ensure accountability and delivery
• Acting as a central coordination point across teams and stakeholders
• Anticipating needs and resolving issues before they arise
• Continuously improving systems and processes to increase efficiency
This is a role where ownership is expected and valued.
About you:
You’re confident operating at a high standard and comfortable working at pace. You’re trusted because you’re reliable, thoughtful, and always one step ahead.
You’ll bring:
• Proven experience supporting senior leaders in a fast‑moving environment
• Exceptional organisation skills and strong attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising quality
• High emotional intelligence and confidence working across diverse styles
• The capability to adapt your communication to suit different preferences and ways of thinking
• Strong written communication skills, including preparing professional documentation
• A proactive, self‑directed approach with minimal need for supervision
• Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information
What will set you apart
• You take ownership rather than waiting for direction
• You’re comfortable managing competing demands and shifting priorities
• You follow through - nothing gets dropped
• You naturally create clarity, structure, and momentum in busy environments
What's in it for you?
• A high‑trust environment with meaningful executive exposure
• The opportunity to have a tangible impact on how work gets done
• The chance to work alongside experienced, outcome‑focused leaders
This role will suit someone who’s motivated by accountability, delivery, and doing work to a high standard.
Apply now if you’re ready to step into a role where you’re trusted to own outcomes - not just tasks.
At WM, we invest in our people - because they are our greatest asset.
