Nielson Construction is growing our Excavation team! We are looking for an Excavator Operator to specialize in digging projects and installing sewer and water. This operator will be tasked with completing these projects as safely and efficiently as possible. This position reports to the Digging Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment like excavators to ensure that the house and garage are dug to the correct grade.
Dig, install, and backfill sewer and water services to each project while adhering to city and state codes.
Perform soil inspections at job sites if necessary.
Complete all required paperwork in accordance with city and state regulations.
Perform daily maintenance inspections on equipment and coordinate repairs if necessary.
Adhere to all company safety policies and standards.
Perform daily jobsite and equipment cleaning.
Maintain accurate timecards and paperwork for all work assignments.
Complete various work orders for all companies.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
A valid driver's license is required. A Class-A CDL is preferred but not required.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
Preference is given to candidates with a valid Sewer and Water Installer license.
Experience safely operating and maintaining heavy equipment is required.
Ability to read and understand all building and drainage plans is required.
Experience with GPS knowledge is preferred.
