Position Overview:
As an EU Financial Project Officer with Odyssea, you will oversee the financial planning, monitoring, and reporting of EU-funded projects. This role ensures compliance with EU regulations, manages financial risks, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage project budgets in line with EU grant requirements.
Monitor financial performance of ongoing EU-funded projects, ensuring compliance with EU rules and internal financial procedures.
Prepare financial reports and documentation for submission to the European Commission and other stakeholders.
Coordinate with project partners and internal departments to gather financial data and support accurate financial reporting.
Ensure timely invoicing, expense tracking, and reconciliation of accounts related to EU projects.
Support audits and evaluations, providing necessary financial documentation and explanations.
Assist in project proposal development with financial input, including budget design and financial risk assessment.
Liaise with funding bodies, auditors, and consortium partners on financial matters.
Contribute to long-term financial planning and forecasting for EU projects to ensure sustainability and strategic resource allocation.
Oversee the collection, validation, and compliance of staff timesheets in accordance with EU funding guidelines.
Periodic duties:
Prepare financial reports donors of foundations and CSR of ongoing programs, including supplementary contributions from the CFO.
Support financial operations when necessary.
Train project staff on financial regulations, procedures, and compliance issues.
Ensure adherence to EU financial regulations and agreements.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Proven experience in financial management of EU funded projects for at least 2 years
Proficiency in Microsoft excel, G-suite
Strong knowledge of different EU funding programs
Fluent in both written and verbal English
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage, prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments without compromising quality or service
Ability to work collaboratively in an international environment
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Great plus:
Experience working in NGOs, research institutions, or consultancy firms.
Familiarity with cost eligibility rules and timesheet management in EU grants.
