We are looking for an Estimator to support commercial construction projects by preparing accurate cost estimates, managing bid processes, and supporting preconstruction efforts. This role works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure competitive and well-structured bids. The position is ideal for someone who understands construction scopes, pricing strategies, and can translate plans into detailed cost projections. This role plays a key part in winning new work and setting projects up for success from the start.
Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and scope requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope gaps and risks
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction planning
• Develop and maintain bid proposals, budgets, and estimate documentation
• Participate in bid reviews and present estimates to internal stakeholders
• Track historical cost data and support continuous improvement of estimating accuracy
• Assist with value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within commercial projects
• Experience with general contractor or subcontractor estimating processes
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
