Description

The Estimator is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute his/her experience and expertise in the area of estimating.  The Estimator prepares quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications and provides support and assistance to his coworkers in a team environment.

Task & Responsibilities:

Preparation of quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications

Lay out of fire protection systems, including but not limited to: sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pump and special fire suppression systems in accordance with codes.

Produce a quantity take off list of material, labour and other construction factors to produce a cost estimate.

Preparation of a detailed quotation letter to send to customer(s) in a competitive situation.

Communication with General Contractors, Engineers, Architects and Owners.

Complete site visits to determine existing conditions

Meet with clients and build customer relationships 

Qualifications: 

Well versed in sprinkler system design

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field

Educational background in Fire Protection or similar field is an asset

Sound knowledge of the relevant and applicable Ontario codes and NFPA

Superior math and analytical skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills

A proven track record of working well within a team

The desire/passion to learn and hone your skill-set

The ability to work autonomously

A dedicated work ethic

A valid driver’s license
