Novakid is an international English language school for children 4-12 years old, which allows children to remotely learn a foreign language according to a teaching program that meets European CEFR standards with their English-speaking peers (Novakid teachers are from the the US, the UK and other countries). We are an advanced IT company of 450+ professionals.
We are looking for a skilled and academically grounded ESL Methodologist to support the development, alignment, and continuous improvement of our curriculum and learning content.
This role focuses on strengthening pedagogical quality, ensuring CEFR alignment, and supporting the content team with clear, research-based guidance.
The Methodologist works collaboratively with writers, designers, and project managers to ensure all materials meet high educational standards and are appropriate for age and level.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Content Review
• Review existing ESL curriculum and learning materials.
• Identify areas for improvement and suggest clear, practical enhancements.
• Ensure logical progression, scaffolding, and age-appropriate design.
CEFR & Standards Alignment
• Act as a CEFR alignment expert.
• Ensure curricula, Scope & Sequences, lesson content, and assessments align with CEFR descriptors and age-appropriate can-do statements.
• Support teams in applying CEFR consistently across products.
• Assist with level validation and alignment checks when developing new materials.
Content Development Support
• Contribute ideas for engaging, pedagogically sound content.
• Provide methodological input during course and lesson development.
• Support writers with clear guidance on structure, flow, and learning objectives.
Academic Grounding
• Ensure instructional decisions are supported by sound ESL methodology and research.
• Provide references or explanations where necessary to strengthen pedagogical choices.
Quality Review
• Evaluate lessons and materials for:
• Methodological soundness
• Clarity of learning objectives
• Appropriate cognitive load
• Logical task sequencing
• Accuracy and clarity in Teacher Notes
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
• Participate in internal discussions about methodology and best practices.
• Share insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of content quality.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between pedagogy, content, and execution.
