Equities Sales Trader — Amsterdam or The Hague (Boutique Sell-Side)

We’re a boutique institutional broker with a high-touch culture, and we’re hiring an Equities Sales Trader to be based in our offices in the Amsterdam or The Hague. This is a hybrid seat: client execution + real-time market color + hands-on trade support, with daily coordination alongside our U.S.-based, self-clearing settlements/ops team.

What you’ll do

• Execute cash equity orders for institutional clients with a best-execution mindset

• Partner closely with Sales and Trading to deliver high-touch coverage and fast follow-through

• Provide actionable market color (flows, catalysts, liquidity, sector/stock moves) and desk commentary

• Own trade lifecycle support: booking, allocations, confirmations, and break resolution

• Work directly with U.S. Operations/Settlements to ensure smooth processing across time zones

• Adhere to best execution policies, regulatory obligations, and internal trading controls

• Escalate market, operational, or counterparty risks promptly; assist in refining desk procedures and controls

• Collaborate with institutional salespeople and position traders

• Gain familiarity with William Blair’s equity products and research. Listen to research meetings, teach-ins, etc. to increase knowledge and allow successful support of the team.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in equities sales trading / execution / trading assistant / desk analyst–style role

• Solid grasp of the equity trade lifecycle and strong attention to detail

• Comfortable communicating under pressure—clear, concise, solutions-oriented

• OMS/EMS and trade capture experience

• EU work authorization; English required

• Comfort working across time zones and coordinating with U.S. teams late afternoon Europe time

• Experience supporting institutional client flow

• Relevant licensing and local regulatory familiarity (as applicable to NL/EU)

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

• High attention to detail and ownership mindset—comfortable being the “last mile” to ensure trades process cleanly
