Job Description
This position is responsible for sales of equipment to aggregate operators, asphalt and concrete operations, other equipment dealers, and to others as needed. Parts account for over half of the sales within Stone Products.
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
Propose and sell equipment and services to aggregate operators and others
Conduct needs analysis to determine correct equipment needs
Research equipment solutions for customers
Utilize the Great Plains system to develop quotes, orders, and other records
Visit and manage all accounts within an assigned geographic area on a continuous basis
Coordinate all activities with each account: equipment, parts, fabrication, services, and other
Coordinate with the General Manager/Shop Foreman to determine the timeline for reconditioned equipment to be completed per customer expectations
Coordinate with the General Manager/Shop Foreman to determine schedule for service crews to be offsite for service calls
Maintain customer contact records
Develop unsolicited proposals for high value equipment and services
Develop account penetration or expansion plans for new or underperforming accounts
Coordinate with parts sales, technical services, and shop management as needed
Coordinate with external agencies, suppliers, engineering firms, others as needed
Follow guidelines for equipment pricing and gross margin expectations and objectives
Assist in the training of other sales associates
Occasional overnight travel may be required
Follows all corporate safety guidelines
Other tasks as assigned
Skills & Requirements
Ability to clearly and accurately communicate with customers, sales, and others verbally and in writing.
Good computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, web searches, and other computer skills as appropriate
Driver’s License with safe driving record
Education & Experience
Minimum of a high school degree, bachelor’s degree preferred
In-depth knowledge of the aggregate industry, equipment, and associated parts
5 years’ experience in the sales of aggregate equipment, parts, or related roles supplying the aggregate industry preferred
