Equipment Operator – Trail & Civil Construction (Out of Town) General Contracting Services Inc. | Northern/Central Alberta

GCS is hiring an experienced Equipment Operator to join our field crew for trail and civil construction work in remote Alberta locations. This is an out-of-town position with work running through summer 2026.

The Work Primary machine is a compact/mini excavator. Work includes trail construction in rugged, forested terrain — cut and fill, rock placement, drainage work, and general site prep. Expect tight, technical operating in areas with limited access. Some hand work alongside the crew is part of the job.

Requirements

Proven experience operating a compact or mini excavator, preferably in difficult or remote terrain

Ability to work to grade and trail construction tolerances

Experience with other misc. light equipment an asset (plate compactor, skid steer, etc.)

Valid Class 5 driver's license minimum, Clean drivers abstract

Ground Disturbance II

Standard safety tickets (WHMIS, First Aid) an asset

Physically fit — this is a hands-on crew

Must be willing to work out of town for extended periods
