Position Summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Greenville is seeking a dedicated and dependable Environmental Services Technician to support a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in maintaining infection control standards and overall facility cleanliness in a behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning and disinfecting of the hospital in accordance with infection control standards and terminal cleaning procedures

Maintain a safe environment by ensuring all cleaning supplies and chemicals are secured at all times

Follow all safety protocols when working in patient care areas

Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed throughout the facility

Perform a variety of environmental services duties to ensure the facility remains neat, orderly, and sanitary

Assist with weekend duties including picking up patient meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Work Environment

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, mist, and airborne particles

Moderate to high noise levels

May require physical activity including lifting, bending, and moving equipment

Smoke-free workplace

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Licensure:

Valid Driver’s License required (must maintain a clear driving record)

Experience:

Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred, especially in a healthcare setting

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of cleaning techniques and infection control practices

Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable and flexible, including availability for weekend shifts

Additional Requirements

Ability to work weekends is required

Must be able to safely operate within a controlled patient care environment
