We are growing our Westport laboratory team and are looking for an Environmental Laboratory Technician to join us on a fixed‑term basis for six months.
Reporting to the Westport Laboratory Manager, you will assist with the preparation, analysis, and reporting of environmental water samples while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, register, prepare, analyse, and report environmental water samples in line with laboratory standard operating procedures
• Ensure results are reported accurately and within required timeframes
• Maintain rigorous quality and documentation practices
• Work closely with the Laboratory Manager and Quality Manager to support efficiency and risk management
• Carry out all work in accordance with Health & Safety requirements
• Undertake other tasks relevant to the role as required
About You
• Previous experience preparing, analysing, and reporting environmental samples (preferred)
• Qualifications in a science‑related discipline are desirable but not essential
• 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician in a commercial Laboratory with high sample volumes and quick turnaround times/or Industrial Laboratory
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure
• Ability to maintain clear and accurate records
• Good computer skills, with confidence in report writing and verbal communication
• A team player with good organisational and time‑management skills.
