Position Summary:
As an Entry-Level Rigger/Mechanic, you will assist with the safe movement, assembly, and installation of large medical equipment in hospitals, clinics, and labs. You will work hands-on with tools, machinery, and rigging gear under the supervision of experienced riggers and team leads. This is a physically active role ideal for someone mechanically inclined and eager to learn a trade in a high-demand, specialized industry.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow directions from team leads and contribute to a safe and efficient job site.
Assist in rigging, lifting, and moving medical devices using dollies, lifts, gantries, forklifts, and cranes.
Support senior riggers in disassembly and reassembly of equipment as required.
Handle and protect sensitive equipment during transit and on-site moves.
Operate hand and power tools under supervision.
Load and unload equipment at job sites using proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
Set up rigging gear (slings, shackles, chains, hoists) and assist with securing loads.
Maintain tools and equipment in clean, serviceable condition.
Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical components (training provided).
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments.
Willing to travel to job sites and work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn on the job.
Willing to be vaccinated as hospitals and facilities require.
Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required).
Preferred but Not Required:
Previous experience in rigging, construction, HVAC, or machinery moving.
Forklift or hoisting certifications.
OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
