Entry-Level Gardener

We are looking for a motivated Entry-Level Gardener to join our landscaping and horticulture team in Scituate, MA. This full-time position is ideal for individuals starting their career in landscaping with little to no prior experience. The successful candidate will assist with landscape maintenance, seasonal plantings, and container garden projects for residential and commercial properties throughout Scituate. This role provides hands-on instruction in plant care, garden upkeep, and horticultural techniques, giving you a strong foundation to grow in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform general landscape maintenance including watering, weeding, mulching, and soil preparation across Scituate properties.
• Assist in planting seasonal flowers, shrubs, and container gardens under the guidance of senior staff.
• Conduct basic pruning, plant care, and garden upkeep with direction from experienced team members.
• Safely load, unload, and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.
• Prepare garden beds and outdoor areas for planting and landscaping projects.
• Monitor plant health and report concerns to senior gardeners.
• Keep job sites organized and safe during and after work.

Requirements:
• 0–2 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, or related outdoor work preferred.
• Genuine interest in horticulture, landscape maintenance, and plant care.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work in various weather conditions in Scituate, MA.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and completing repetitive tasks safely.
• Willingness to learn from and follow instructions from senior landscaping staff.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Scituate.
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
