Enterprise Tooling Senior Test Lead

Summary of Business Unit/Function: Testing Enablement mission is to provide standardised and best in class testing services aligned with LSEG Testing standards. This practice will act as a bridge between LSEG Testing CoE and Corporate Technology capability teams. This practice will enable testing standards, process, data, environment and tooling automation required to balance both stability and agility values. Role Summary: Working as a Testing Automation & Tooling Manager will enable testing automation to reduce testing time, reduce time to identify bugs/defects and improve overall lead time to deliver product features. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Participate in deep-dive analysis and maturity assessment of Test Enablement practices across Products and services inline with LSEG Testing Standards / CoE Lead by example in integrating engineering principles within the team, striving for excellence and innovation. Define and enforce comprehensive quality policies, standards, governance frameworks, and tooling strategies to ensure consistency and excellence across multiple projects and business units. Build with purpose by spearheading the integration of automation and test script development to elevate quality assurance practices organisation-wide. Develop and oversee centralised testing functions, ensuring they align with organisational goals and strategies. Collaborate to achieve scalable and efficient automated testing solutions that enhance team capabilities and project outcomes. Act as owners in driving the adoption of automation practices to ensure reliability and excellence in execution. Conduct in-depth evaluations to identify gaps and implement improvements across testing practices, tools, and processes. Dive deep into automation and test script strategies to spearhead innovation and continuous improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends and integrate external best practices to enhance efficiency, innovation, and delivery speed. Learn and be curious by leading the adoption of advanced automation tools and methodologies across teams. Ensure that testing initiatives, including automated testing and script development, support the organisation’s broader strategic objectives, improving customer satisfaction and competitiveness. Customer driven in aligning efforts with overarching business goals. Enable coaching and mentoring while demonstrating a growth mindset and curiosity, actively sharing knowledge, solving complex technical problems, and developing thought leadership through internal and external networks. Participate in designing Test Enablement Architecture Principles and their application in building or re-working testing enablement framework(s) and artefacts. Develop Automation solutions for various application technologies including On-premises, SaaS and Cloud environments. Assess current data and environment state and perform gaps analysis and recommendations for improvements. Interface with Test Data Management, Tools, Test Environment Management, Testing Standards, and QA/UAT teams on all Test Enablement /Automation related issues Participate as a major contributor to the selection of Test Automation tools Participate / Lead Test Automation Tools Proof of Concept (POCs) and provide analysis and recommendations Create educational materials and conduct training and mentoring on all Test Enablement / Automation related subjects Must interact with global teams in time zones spanning UK, US, APAC areas. Essential Technical Skills Experience in Test Enablement Architecture principles, Design methodologies and their applicability Deep experience in Testing enablement Framework development, customization, and their usages for creating sustainable testing solutions Hands-on experience with Java Selenium & API Automation Frameworks, e.g., Java, Selenium, Karate Framework (API & UI), REST-Assured, SOAP UI etc. Hands on experience on cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) to integrate automation tests in the CI systems (GitLab/Jenkins) Hands-on experience in automating standard application technologies, e.g., UI (Web/Thin Clients), API/Messaging systems, Desktop (Thick Clients), Mobile. Must have experience in Agile PDLC and DevSecOps practices. Good understanding of Test Automation implementation across on the following platforms – Web, API, Desktop, Mobile. Broad knowledge of Cloud services, STLC Tools, Build and CI/CD Automation tools and their utility – Open-Source and commercial Should have a mindset to learn new technologies and creating automation Ability to define and enforce Test Coding Standards and to work in an Enterprise organization. Able to communicate with senior members of Dev, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams as needed. Nice to have GitLab CI/CD experience. Essential Experience: 12 - 15 years of experience in Testing automation and tooling enablement. 8 + Years of Automated testing implementation 5+ years' experience in leading successful, result drive teams Qualifications: BA/BS/Engineering in IT or Business-related technology field or equivalent work experience. Training: Preferred - All relevant Testing and Automation Training Other requirements: Strong collaboration and communication skills are a must. Experience in the Finance industry or knowledge of financial products is a huge plus.
