Job Description
Who We Are
At Destine Prep, we’re not just a school, we’re a community built on high expectations, strong relationships, and a belief that every scholar deserves access to an exceptional education.
We run on an extended school day and year, we invest in music and the arts, and we show up for families in ways that go beyond the classroom. Around here, “operations” doesn’t mean sitting behind a desk all day. It means being in the work, solving problems, building systems, and making sure everything (and everyone) is set up to succeed.
And yes… our Operations Team? Think Transformers. We shift, adapt, jump in where needed, and keep the whole organization moving forward.
The Role (What You’ll Actually Do)
This is not a “sit and wait” role. This is a frontline, relationship-driven, get-it-done role.
As the Enrollment & Family Outreach Coordinator, you are the first impression and ongoing connection for our families. You’ll lead how families find us, choose us, and stay with us.
You’ll own the full enrollment journey while also being a key player on the Operations Team, stepping in wherever needed to keep the school running smoothly.
What Your Days Might Look Like
You’re building the school community:
Leading recruitment efforts to meet enrollment goals (yes, your work directly impacts the future of the school)
Hosting tours, attending events, and connecting with families out in the community
Following up with prospective families and guiding them through the process from interest → enrollment → onboarding
You’re the enrollment quarterback:
Managing applications, lotteries, waitlists, and registration
Keeping everything organized, compliant, and moving forward
Tracking data and trends and keeping leadership in the loop
You’re the go-to for families:
Communicating regularly through ParentSquare, newsletters, and direct outreach
Supporting families with real-life needs (transportation, communication barriers, navigating systems)
Building trust so families feel informed, supported, and connected
You’re part of Operations (aka: where the Transformer energy comes in):
Helping manage uniforms and distribution
Supporting transportation coordination and problem-solving
Jumping in to support the front office when needed
Pitching in on team priorities as they evolve (because they always do)
Important note:
This role includes regular time out in the community, sometimes outside of typical school hours. If you like being out, meeting people, and representing something meaningful, you’ll thrive here.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is both people-centered and systems-minded.
You might be a great fit if you:
Know how to connect with people from all backgrounds and build trust quickly
Are highly organized and can manage multiple moving pieces without dropping the ball
Communicate clearly, professionally, and with empathy
Are comfortable having real conversations, even when they’re tough
Have a strong customer service mindset and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves
Can think on your feet and adapt when plans change
Experience That Helps (but doesn’t have to be perfect)
Enrollment, admissions, or recruitment experience (schools, nonprofits, higher ed)
Family engagement, parent liaison, or community outreach work
Human services, case management, or advocacy experience
High-volume communication roles (events, calls, follow-ups, coordination)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Services, Social Work, Education, Communications, or similar)
Associate’s degree + strong experience absolutely considered
What Matters Most Here
We are deeply committed to equity, anti-racism, and creating a school where every student and family feels seen, respected, and supported. This is not optional work, it’s core to who we are.
A Quick Reality Check (in a good way)
This role is:
Fast-paced
People-heavy
Sometimes unpredictable
But it’s also:
Meaningful
Relationship-driven
Critical to the success of the school
If you like variety, ownership, and being at the center of things, you’ll love it here.
Physical & Day-to-Day Reality
You’ll be on your feet, moving around the building, and sometimes out in the community
You’ll use standard office equipment and systems daily
Occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs (think boxes of uniforms, materials, etc.)
Why Destine Prep
Because here, your work actually matters.
You’re not just filling seats, you’re helping build a school community and opening doors for scholars and families.
