• Plan and teach courses including some of the following: Creative Writing, Essay Writing, Reading, Humanities, Public Speaking and Debate, Book Clubs, IB/GCSE English*
• Conduct one-on-one academic coaching with students
• Manage individual student portfolios and perform ongoing student assessments
• Advise students on community service projects, internships, and other individual pursuits
• Communicate effectively with parents with occasional consultations
• Collaborate in curriculum development, course and unit planning
• Introduce courses and services to prospective students, parents and community partners
• At least two years of experience teaching primary and/or secondary students
• Bachelor’s degree or above (most preferably in English Literature)
• Native fluency in English
• Passionate about teaching and mentoring children and young people
• Demonstrated academic excellence and exemplary critical and creative thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and collaborate with others
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive; keen to take the initiative to develop curriculum and build our community
Great-to-Have’s
• Previous experience teaching at an IB or international school
• Experience teaching IB PYP, MYP, GCSE, AP and/or DP courses
• Degree in literature, arts, social science, or the humanities
• PGDE, PGCE, masters in education or similar qualification
• Experience with standardized test preparation and school admissions
• Experience with educational technology, curriculum design, educational research, and cognitive psychology
• Having cool interests you can share with colleagues and students
