We are seeking passionate and dedicated English Language Teachers to join our diverse team in Ireland to teach morning classes. JOB DUTIES

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

 

Teaching & Lesson Delivery

Plan and deliver engaging English language lessons in line with the prescribed syllabus, timetable, and CEFR guidelines.

Prepare lesson notes, resources, and materials in a professional manner at least one day in advance.

Maintain clear daily lesson plans.

Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students at different levels and learning styles.

Student Support & Progression

Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on their progress.

Support student progression, including facilitating level changes and advising on academic development.

Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment at all times.

Assessment & Administration

Mark attendance accurately for each lesson in line with ILSC Dublin’s rules.

Complete all marking and assessments (progress tests, end-of-level exams, continuous assessments, classroom projects) within the assigned timeframe.

Keep accurate academic records and report progress to the DOS/ADOS when required.

Professional Development & Quality Assurance

Participate in regular scheduled lesson observations and annual peer-to-peer observations.

Attend regular academic team meetings, teacher development workshops, and performance feedback meetings.

Contribute to new programme development, course reviews, and validations.

Stay up to date with developments in English language teaching, including digital learning tools.

College Representation & Conduct

Act professionally at all times in the best interest of ILSC Dublin, its students, and its reputation.

Address concerns about policies, procedures, or colleagues internally and with discretion.

Attend events and activities relevant to the promotion of ILSC Dublin courses, as requested.

Provide feedback to management to support the improvement of programmes and student progression.

Additional Expectations

Ensure compliance with ILSC safeguarding and child protection policies.

Uphold health and safety requirements in the classroom and wider College environment.

Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the College, including use of technology and blended learning where appropriate.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

A primary degree (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in any discipline.

A recognised English Language Teaching (ELT) qualification such as:

CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), or

Trinity CertTESOL, or

Another ACELS-recognised initial teaching qualification.

Previous experience teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language (in Ireland or abroad).

Experience teaching a range of levels (beginner to advanced).

(Desirable) A higher-level qualification such as DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL, or a relevant postgraduate degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Education.

(Desirable) Experience in exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge, TOEFL, etc.).

(Desirable) Experience with digital learning tools, blended or online teaching.

(Desirable) Experience working in a multicultural classroom environment.
