Job Description
The Operation’s Team in AHMO supports development of various electronic hardware for an automotive application. We provide rapid prototyping capability and low volume hardware assembly, facilitating quick design iterations for product development. We are looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, innovative, a self-starter, and willing to take on the challenges to work with us as an exceptional engineering technician.
The candidate will be working with a motivated, high energy team to ensure timely completion of projects in the Engineering Lab. You will be supporting projects developed by cross-functional teams where individual performance is measured in regard to quality, and schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Must be able to follow directions while closely adhering to process detail for each assignment.
• Assist engineers during the development of new products to optimize the manufacturing process.
• Assist Engineers in the development of solutions and alternative assembly techniques to resolve issues.
• Accurately assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware from engineering prototypes through short run production.
• Perform as a Quality Delegate, inspecting work from other technicians in the Engineering Lab
• Carry out assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
• Be informative and communicate in a way that is complete, accurate and clear.
• Maintain a consistent track-record of attendance and prompt arrival at work.
• Perform final product testing in accordance with written procedures.
• Ensure your work area and equipment is kept neat, clean, and well organized.
• Requires minimal supervision on routine tasks.
Requirements:
Key Qualifications
• HS Diploma or GED degree with 3 to 5 years of experience electro-mechanical assembly
• Technical training, such as soldering, trade school, or OJT classes (preferred).
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Working knowledge of Google Suit including, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, experience using a computer for entering data, and using the internet
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Proficient using standard assembly tools: cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pin insertion/removal tools, and torque tools
• Hands-on lab experience such as soldering, power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes.
• Proficient verbal and written English language skills and prior experience working with product development teams in a low volume manufacturing setting.
• IPC-610, IPC-620, or JSTD-10
