The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team of 5–7 full-stack, frontend, and backend engineers. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience managing engineering teams, who has also thrived as a senior or principal-level individual contributor in a strong engineering culture. You will be responsible for guiding technical direction, driving execution, and ensuring operational excellence while fostering growth and collaboration across your team and the broader engineering organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of full-stack, frontend, and backend engineers.

• Drive delivery of high-quality, customer-facing product features and improvements.

• Provide strong technical oversight through design reviews, code reviews, and process adherence.

• Contribute to small coding tasks or proof-of-concepts as needed.

• Identify technical risks, areas of refactoring, and opportunities for improving developer productivity and software quality.

• Ensure operational excellence in production, including reliability, scalability, and performance.

• Partner with product, design, and other stakeholders to align priorities and execution.

• Recruit, interview, and onboard new engineering team members, including offshore and nearshore contractors.

• Influence and elevate engineering practices across the broader organization, not just within your direct team.

Who You Are

•
5+ years in software development with recent Senior/Principal-level experience

•
6+ months of engineering management experience

•
Proven success managing remote, distributed teams

•
Strong full-stack technical background:

•
Frontend: React, TypeScript

•
Backend: Node.js, NestJS

•
Infra: AWS, microservices

•
Experience building core or customer-facing products

•
High ownership with a track record of delivering complex projects

•
Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills

•
Strong people leadership: mentoring, coaching, conflict resolution, team building

•
Ability to set and influence technical best practices across teams

Salary range
$200,000—$250,000 USD
