Engineering Manager, TikTok Channel Integration

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join Smartly's Media Engineering group to lead the team responsible for developing Smartly's existing TikTok product. The team designs, builds and maintains the integration in close partnership with TikTok’s representatives. The main technologies used by the team include:

• Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes

• React for core UI workflows

• Seamless integrations with the broader Smartly infrastructure

As an Engineering Manager, your role is to ensure the team delivers the right things at the right time with high quality and clarity of purpose.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and facilitate an autonomous Fullstack team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of channel integration.

• Champion team member growth through coaching, regular 1:1s, and clear personal development planning, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Identify blockers and tackle ambitious technical problems to add your mark to our engineering culture.

What we’re looking for:

• You are an experienced people leader with proven ability in building and leading high-performing teams

• You have experience throughout the full software life-cycle in an environment with high-availability demands and active user-base

• You have experience in various agile development practices as well as the pragmatism to know which tradeoffs are acceptable and a sharp focus on delivery.

• You have empathic and user-focused mentality: you care deeply about the product experience, you understand users’ motivations and frustrations, and you genuinely want to help them

• You are comfortable being hands-on to guide the team on technical decisions, system design and best engineering practices.

• You have the ability to work from our Helsinki office three days a week
