Engineering Manager

We're seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our AI transform engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to balance technical leadership with people management, driving both technical excellence and team growth. You'll spend some of your time coding while architecting solutions and mentoring and developing a talented engineering team.

Location: San Jose, CA office - 3 days per week on-site (hybrid)

Technical Leadership:
• Design and architect scalable, resilient platform services
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices
• Make key technical decisions on frameworks, tools, and architecture
• Lead technical initiatives and drive platform modernization efforts
• Participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issues
• Write production code and contribute to critical platform components

People & Team Management:
• Lead, mentor, and grow a teams of 5-8 engineers
• Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
• Build a high-performing, collaborative team culture
• Recruit, interview, and hire top engineering talent
• Champion continuous learning and technical growth
• Remove blockers and create an environment where engineers thrive

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner with Product and Design to define technical roadmaps
• Collaborate with other engineering teams on platform initiatives
• Communicate technical vision and progress to stakeholders
• Balance business needs with technical excellence

What You'll Bring:
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with modern tech stacks
• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing teams
• Strong hands-on coding skills (Python, Java, Go, or similar)
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proven track record building scalable distributed systems
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD
• Strong understanding of system design, microservices, and APIs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor engineers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with platform or infrastructure engineering
• Background in FinTech or SaaS companies
• Familiarity with data pipelines and processing frameworks
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and DevOps practices
• Track record of technical innovation and driving engineering culture
• Experience with AI technologies such as langgraph, langchain, mcp

This job posting is for our Software Engineering Manager, the base pay range for this position is $144,000 - $216,000. Compensation is not limited to base salary. FloQast reserves the right to amend, change, alter, and revise pay ranges and benefits offerings at any time.
