About You

You are an experienced engineering leader with a passion for creating platforms that enhance the developer experience. You have a deep understanding of the technical needs developers face, particularly in areas like API integration, identity management, and scalable frameworks. Your track record includes building platforms that allow developers to easily onboard, integrate, and extend product functionality. You’ve led teams of 10 or more engineers, successfully delivering complex, developer-focused projects on time and with high quality.

You are equally excited about software development and people development. You provide clear, actionable feedback on technical designs, are an advocate for improving developer workflows, and can contribute directly to development when needed.

What you’ll do and how you’ll have an impact

• Lead, support, and mentor multiple teams of Software Developers and QA Engineers, with a focus on delivering a top-tier developer experience;

• Own performance management for your team, including setting and guiding OKRs, conducting performance reviews, and providing career coaching;

• Manage project plans spanning multiple teams, including cross-functional collaborations, to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery;

• Set and champion the technical vision for the Developer Experience group, with a focus on building developer-facing features like identity management, federated APIs (e.g., GraphQL), and comprehensive developer documentation and onboarding;

• Work with other engineering managers and technical leads to drive adoption and integration of platform products, ensuring developers have the tools they need to succeed;

• Coach engineers by reviewing technical designs and code, conducting technical talks, and advocating for best practices in developer experience and API design;

• Stay hands-on with the team by contributing to non-critical path code improvements and maintaining a deep understanding of the platform’s technical landscape.

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of solid engineering experience, with 3+ years of experience leading software development teams;

• Proven experience managing teams of 10+ developers and delivering developer-focused products such as APIs, identity management solutions, or developer tooling;

• Strong technical expertise in back-end and front-end development technologies, including Java, Node.js, SQL, and API frameworks like GraphQL;

• Solid understanding of developer experience best practices, including API design, authentication, onboarding, and documentation;

• Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences;

• Familiarity with Agile development processes and cross-functional collaboration;

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
