As a Manager I, Software Engineering, you lead a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that drive the success of our products. You are responsible for overseeing the development process, ensuring that best practices are followed, and that the team consistently meets both technical and business goals. You foster a collaborative environment, mentoring your team members and supporting their professional growth. Your focus is on managing the balance between tactical project execution and strategic goals, ensuring the timely delivery of features while maintaining a high standard of code quality.

In your day to day, you will:

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, ensuring timely delivery of features and projects

• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define project requirements and prioritize work

• Ensure best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration

• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering both personal and technical growth within the team

• Monitor the team’s progress and remove roadblocks to maintain project momentum

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align engineering efforts with business goals

• Oversee the technical design and architecture of systems and applications within your team’s scope

• Implement and promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve development processes and tools

• Manage team performance and provide feedback through regular performance reviews

• Stay current with industry trends and technologies, ensuring the team is utilizing the best tools and practices

• Develop and oversee complex system integrations across the marketing website ecosystem, going beyond CMS management to ensure seamless connectivity between platforms, tools, and internal systems

• Lead the implementation and optimization of A/B testing frameworks, enabling the team to design, execute, and analyze experiments that drive data-informed decisions and measurable business impact

We think this role is for you if have...

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering

• 2+ years in a people leadership or management role

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes (i.e., Agile, Scrum)

• Expertise with JavaScript

• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks (i.e., JavaScript, Python, Node.js, React)

• Experience with version control systems (i.e., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (i.e., Jenkins, CircleCI)

• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within scope

• Experience working on a website built with a CMS (i.e. Wordpress, Strapi, Contentful)

• Knowledge and expertise in website performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals and modern web performance best practices

• Experience with experimentation tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc)

• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields or similar tools
