The Mission: Design Systems at Fullscript
The Design Systems team is the foundation of how Fullscript builds product experiences at scale.

We own the shared components, patterns, tokens, and tooling that power both web and mobile applications across the company.

Our work enables teams to move faster without sacrificing quality, accessibility, or coherence. As AI becomes more embedded in how products are designed and built, this team plays a critical role in shaping how systems, tooling, and intelligence come together to support designers and engineers alike.

The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the Design Systems pod.

This role blends strong people leadership with deep technical and systems thinking. You’ll stay close to the code and the roadmap while setting a clear vision for how the design system evolves across platforms (Web and React Native), teams, and future AI-driven workflows.

You’ll create the conditions for adoption, consistency, and long-term sustainability—partnering closely with Design, Product, and Engineering to ensure the system serves the organization, not the other way around.

What you'll do:
• Lead a cross-functional Design Systems pod, partnering closely with Design
• Own and evolve Fullscript’s design system across Web (React) and Mobile (React Native)
• Act as a strong advocate for systems thinking across the engineering organization
• Drive adoption of the design system through clear APIs, documentation, tooling, and enablement
• Set technical direction and standards for component architecture, theming, and accessibility
• Explore and integrate AI-assisted workflows and tools to enhance how the design system is built, used, and scaled
• Balance near-term delivery with long-term system health and extensibility
• Ensure the system supports product velocity while maintaining a high bar for UX quality

• Adoption matters as much as correctness
• The best systems anticipate change and scale gracefully
• AI is a force multiplier when thoughtfully integrated into system design and workflows
• Maintaining system health (code, documentation) in the age of AI is imperative
• Collaboration with Design is essential—not optional

What you bring:
• Experience growing and scaling a design system used by multiple teams
• Strong technical background with React and React Native
• A systems mindset and the ability to think beyond individual components
• Comfort moving between technical leadership, people management, and program execution
• Strong program and project management skills to coordinate work across stakeholders
• A clear point of view on how design systems should evolve in an AI-enabled future
• Proven ability to partner closely with Design and advocate for UX excellence

Bonus:
• Passion for UX and product design
• Experience working closely with designers on tokens, patterns, and workflows
• Curiosity about emerging AI tools and how they intersect with design and engineering systems
