About the role (What you'll be doing)

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Medication Management Squad, a core team responsible for building and scaling the systems that support how patients receive, manage, and stay on their treatments.

•
As a hands-on Engineering Manager, you will guide a team of talented engineers while remaining close to the technical and product decisions that drive meaningful patient and commercial impact. You will work closely with cross-functional partners across product, design, analytics, and commercial teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

You will take an iterative approach to building and evolving systems, balancing rapid delivery with stability, security, and long-term maintainability. You will own delivery management for your team, lead planning and prioritisation, and ensure your squad consistently delivers the right outcomes.

You will be accountable for your team’s objectives and support them in effectively owning and operating the components within their domain. You will collaborate with other Engineering Managers to lead engineering-wide initiatives, improve processes, and contribute to the growth of a high-performing engineering organisation.

As Eucalyptus continues to scale, you will help design and evolve the team structure, support hiring and resourcing needs, and adapt ways of working in a fast-moving environment.

About you (Who you are)

• You are an experienced Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Senior Engineer with experience leading teams in a growth-focused, product-led environment.
You have led and coached engineers, providing clear and constructive feedback, and are accountable for individual and team performance. You are a strong communicator for both technical and non-technical audiences

• You have managed competing priorities across new feature development, iterative improvement, technical and operational debt, and scalability. You have partnered closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to arrive at strong outcomes.

• You are passionate about building and inspiring teams, helping engineers understand what they are building and why it matters. You thrive in fast-paced startup environments where you balance decision velocity with quality.

• You bring strong problem-solving skills across team design, agile delivery, and continuous improvement.

• Frontend: React, React Native + Expo, TypeScript, Apollo, Tailwind

• Backend: Node (TypeScript) and Go microservices, Federated GraphQL, gRPC, Protobufs, Pub/Sub and Postgres, hosted on GCP Kubernetes Engine (GKE)

• You’ll work on interesting engineering challenges:

• Euc has a large appetite for product development, so we have a roadmap of innovative, greenfield features to work on

• We've been running microservices smoothly in production for a few years, but there is still a lot of complex business logic in our legacy mono-repo to understand, break down, improve and port across.

• We strive for efficiency and invest heavily in internal tooling to improve developer experience
