We are seeking an Engineering Lead with strong Node.js, TypeScript, cloud and team leadership experience.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture: Own the technical design and architecture of robust, scalable cloud-based solutions, ensuring they meet enterprise standards for security, performance, and scalability.
Hands-on Development: Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Node.js and TypeScript often working within cloud platforms like AWS.
Team Mentorship & Guidance: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, resolving conflicts, and establishing engineering best practices.
Collaboration & Agile Practices: Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Operational Excellence: Implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, support automation efforts, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and availability.
Quality & Security: Drive a strong understanding of testing principles (TDD/BDD) and secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP standards) to ensure high code quality and resilience.

Required Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years of professional hands-on experience in full-stack software development, including experience leading engineering teams.
Technical Proficiency:
Frontend: React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and modern web development practices.
Backend: Node.js and related frameworks. AdonisJS experience is a plus.
Cloud: Designing and maintaining solutions using cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), including serverless infrastructure, databases, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
Education: A Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Skills: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across distributed teams.
This is a full-time remote position located in the US. Employees hired within a designated radius of the office are expected to work on-site according to a schedule set by management based on the requirements of their role. If remote, quarterly visits are required to the Indianapolis, Indiana office.
Benefits & Compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000-$225,000. This role is bonus-eligible, with bonus opportunity based on individual and company performance. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
