About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Design Drafter to join our team in Toowoomba in a 2-year fixed term role- with a potential to go permanent. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and plans to support engineering projects across our operations. Working closely with our engineering workshop, operational, and SHE teams, you will translate concepts into compliant design documentation that supports safe, efficient, and timely project delivery. From initial layouts through to fabrication drawing sets, you will play a key part in bringing engineering solutions to life.

There will be travelling required to our regional sites weekly.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Develop professional engineering drawings and schematics using AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver practical and accurate design solutions.
• Revise and maintain drawings in line with feedback, standards, and codes of practice.
• Prepare and manage documentation for manufacturing and construction.
• Provide general arrangement, technical, and fabrication drawing sets.
• Maintain organised records of drawings and revisions.
• Participate in design reviews and support drafting process improvements.
• Contribute to the development of design templates and standards.
• Promote and uphold LDC’s safety culture.

Essential skills and experience:

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor (2D and 3D).
• Strong technical documentation and drafting skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS1657, AS4024, AS4100, AS5131) and relevant compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant professional memberships desirable.
