CNPSA Romania is looking for an Engineering Superintendent – BOP / TG / Common JD to join the onsite team at Cernavoda NPP for the Refurbishment of Unit 1
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Engineering Superintendent – BOP / TG / Common Systems provides engineering oversight for the Unit 1 Refurbishment Project, including but not limited to:
Supporting engineering service heads in evaluating detailed solutions, technical specifications, implementation plans, and testing plans related to BOP, Turbo-Generator, and common systems.
Providing oversight and verification of complex implementation and testing plans for critical refurbishment activities.
Monitoring and ensuring that design and refurbishment activities comply with the approved project schedule, budget, and quality assurance processes.
Managing and coordinating interfaces between discipline-specific design areas to ensure adequate resources and integration across project phases.
Providing design expertise and reviewing system-level design documentation.
Ensuring design and manufacturing activities are performed in accordance with approved policies, standards, programs, and procedures.
Supporting the achievement of on-time and on-budget project objectives.
Coordinating engineering support activities during the execution phase of the project.
Ensuring implementation of engineering governance processes and coordination with contractors and project stakeholders.
Personnel Management
Establish quarterly and annual performance objectives for staff reporting to the position.
Perform periodic performance assessments.
Provide mentoring and training for project staff.
Identify leadership potential and support professional development.
Develop and implement individual development plans for staff.
Assign responsibilities in accordance with approved job descriptions.
Approve timesheets and leave requests.
Report any issues related to staff discipline, activity, or performance to management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Support the Operational Director in managing the project execution plan with a focus on engineering activities.
Stakeholder Communication
Facilitate effective collaboration between internal teams, contractors, regulators, and external stakeholders.
Contract Management
Collaborate with the Contract Management team to ensure contracts are properly executed.
Address contractual issues on behalf of the project owner.
Validate completion of field work stages required for payment milestones.
Project Reporting
Ensure engineering progress reports submitted by contractors are accurate and aligned with contractual scope and schedule.
Monitoring and Control
Contribute to project KPIs and monitor compliance with schedule, scope, and budget.
Risk Management
Identify project risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
Human Resources
Define performance targets and conduct performance reviews.
Identify leadership potential among staff.
Support staff development programs.
Occupational Health and Safety / Fire Prevention
The position holder shall:
Perform activities in accordance with professional training and workplace safety instructions.
Ensure the application of preventive safety principles within supervised activities.
Request necessary resources for prevention and protection activities.
Verify compliance of work equipment with safety requirements.
Ensure personnel assigned to tasks possess appropriate competence and training.
Ensure occupational health and safety responsibilities are included in subordinate job descriptions.
Report accidents, hazardous situations, or incidents immediately.
Stop work if an imminent danger is identified.
Ensure staff training related to occupational health, safety, and emergency preparedness.
Promote a workplace culture where safety concerns can be raised openly.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain strict confidentiality of company documents, data, and information obtained through employment.
Comply with applicable regulations related to radiation protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention.
Follow all applicable policies, procedures, management system requirements, and relevant legal regulations applicable to the role.
