We have immediate openings for "Engineer - Product Design & Development" for our Reputed MNC Client located in Bangalore.

About Company:
Our Client is a manufacturer of electronic interconnectors. They sell over 100,000 products, including everything from electrical and fiber optic interconnects solutions, to switches and application tooling. They supply a variety of industries, including the telecom, data com, computer and peripheral, automotive, premise wiring, industrial, consumer, medical and military markets.

About Position:
Experience: 3 to 6 years

Location: Bangalore
Job Description:
•    Introduce, Develop and Maintain products for PSBU Cable Harness in India    
•    Understand customer requirements and covert the same into Engineering Specification            
•    Work on Quote, Proto Sample followed by Sample Approval from Customer    
•    Co-ordinate with Process Team to develop related tooling followed by Smooth transaction of TTV from CFT to Regular MRP controller.                    
•    Work with CFT team to ensure PPAP / PPEP / GPPAP /PSW are submitted based on customer requirement    
•    Work on value engineering to reduce cost and improve profit margin    
•    Involve in early stage of customer design to add value by adding more and more on Company’s products        
•    Visit Customer along with GSM and Product Marketing team                    

Specific Responsibilities:
•    Process owner for product & lead product CFT in the Product development process.
•    Has the responsibility for TTQ & TTM. Co-ordinate the entire project in terms of planning and execution through a project plan                    
•    Review customer specifications and conduct engineering specification & feasibility reviews.       
 •    Prepare technical information for costing.                   
 •    Prepare Drawings and specifications.               
•    Release and Update drawings and specifications to Work Manager / ECTR.
•    Initiate and track ECN / ECR’s.                    
•    Participate in Design Reviews, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturability.
•    Prepare and evaluate samples                    
•    Assist in establishing proposed production process flow and Evaluating product design changes arising thereof.
•    Establish product qualification plans and reliability test sequences by working with CFT        
•    Disposition of product approval and tool qualification requests.        
•    Generate BOM’s and assist in updating in SAP.                     
•    Disposition First Article Inspection reports on new /refurbished tooling for existing products.        
•    Interaction with the various engineering centers of the company for getting information as and when required.
•    Initiate team reviews when a project becomes critical and obtain management support when required.    
•    Responsible for Value engineering projects resulting in cost reduction, product improvements and productivity improvements.                    
•    Coordinate with Sample Room to prepare samples and evaluate changes required thereof.    
•    Evaluate time schedule for drawing and sample preparation, pilot run, update data base and communicate to sales and marketing sample submission dates.
•    Follow RoHS requirements                   
 •    Drive for continuous improvement in respective areas                   
 •    Participate in Lean activities wherever assigned                    
•    Ensure compliance with all Company’s policies & procedures in all related areas.•
    Any other projects/work assigned by management                    

Skill Sets & Competencies

1. Hands on experience in NX, Pro E and E-EC                   
 2. Hands on experience in ECN /ECR management system                    
3. Knowledge of Product design and development processes                    
4. Good technical communication skills                    
5. Knowledge on APQP / PPAP is must                    
6. Knowledge on ISO and TS requirements will be an added advantage.
7. Knowledge on wiring harness manufacturing process will be an added advantage
