In this role, you will lead Asia Pacific RSEC initiatives and execute sales process by working closely with the AP Sales team, to achieve a high percentage success (Book to Quote rate %) in securing business. Plan, manage, participate, lead and train the Sales team and our representatives to be highly proficient in product selection to best fit the customer enquiries whilst maximising the Armstrong product content and upsell to fit the enquiry opportunity. You will travel within the Asia Pacific region on an ad hoc basis meeting customers for technical discussions, Presentations, Business meetings, trainings etc.)
In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:
Customer Enquiry Evaluation and Product Fit Optimization
Evaluation of customer enquiries involves scrutinizing P&I drawings to understand the design and application intent. This assessment helps in determining the best-fit Armstrong product or solution to optimize efficiency.
Collaborative Sales Engagement
Working closely with sales management and field sales ensures early engagement and design/applications dialogue at crucial points in the customer buying process. This collaborative approach aligns with Armstrong's sales process and best practices, fostering a smooth and effective customer interaction.
Support in Enquiry Follow-Up and Solution Development
Support is provided for following up on enquiries with both external sales teams and specific internal quotations. For more complex project opportunities, as designated and agreed upon with sales leadership, we actively participate in customer dialogue as part of solution development, tender clarification, benefit articulation, and ultimately assisting in securing business.
Product Selection and Quotation Preparation
Appropriate products are selected and quotations prepared using company product selection tools. Ensuring that all supporting documentation, value articulation information, and quotation packages meet the desired quality standards identified by the business is crucial.
Strategic Planning and Sales Closure Collaboration
Participation in the production of the strategic planning (SOMA) sheet on selected jobs involves working closely with sales managers to help achieve successful closure. It ensures that all relevant information and strategies are aligned, facilitating efficient and effective sales closure.
Contribution to Departmental KPIs and Business Objectives
Active participation and contribution to department key business metrics/KPIs are essential to meeting overall business objectives.
Sales Meetings and Strategic Initiative Contributions
As a representative of the RSEC, participation in regional and national sales meetings is crucial. Assistance in the compilation and review of sales forecasts, strategic initiatives (e.g., CPDs), and key account customers ensures that our sales strategies are well-informed and aligned with the company's overall objectives.
Client Engagement and Message Integration
Undertaking site/client visits ensures that the Armstrong message is articulated and understood by our client base. By integrating our offerings into their specifications and schedules, we demonstrate our commitment to their success and position Armstrong as a valued partner.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
Qualification within Building Services/Mechanical Engineering (Degree Preferred)
High degree of fluency in P&I drawings in mechanical / HVAC applications with consulting background are preferred.
Technical product knowledge of the company’s current product range
8-10 years’ experience in a technical sales role as an internal sales or on a customer orientated technical team is essential (desirable)
Knowledge and understanding of the company’s internal sales systems would be desirable
Competent in IT skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
The ability to collate and analyse relevant data & statistics (data/analysis manipulation – MS advanced level)
The ability to write reports/complete paperwork accurately and legibly
Initiative, self-motivation and commitment to achieving high standards of quality and efficiency
A pro-active and flexible attitude
Business systems knowledge – Configuration software / CRM - advantageous
