We are an Engineering and Product Development Center that conceives, develops, and productizes new technologies, products and services towards a more sustainable society.
We work by bridging together cities, industry and universities around large programs of development and industrialization of products and services, from Portugal, in high-tech sectors such as mobility, aeronautics and space.
This opportunity for an Engineer | Aircraft Design - Mechanical Systems (m/f/d) will be integrated into the Aeronautics team.
• Adherence to product configuration rules.
• Contribute towards the creation of project reports and any other relevant certification documentation.
• Design for manufacturing of 3D CAD models (composite or metallic materials).
• Develop CAD models in support of testing and certification activities.
• Ensure the compliance with project requirements and quality processes.
• Evaluate inputs to ensure an adequate selection of materials, treatments and production techniques for each application.
• Generate Bill of Materials in support of the production and purchasing/logistics process.
• Identify issues and propose/develop improvements to meet established requirements, targets, or to solve problems.
• Provide the manager with any requested information for planning, execution or control of technical activities such as:• The activities’ plan definition and the reporting and tracking of project tasks’ status;
• Provide work estimates and projections;
• Alert to potential problems, deviations and needs.
• Reduce overall costs by applying a lean philosophy to processes and choice of design solutions.
• Academic background in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautics, Mechanics or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with CAD software (CATIA, Siemens Nx, Solidworks), MSOffice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar tools.
• Proven experience in the development of components/products.
• Good knowledge of materials and production techniques.
• Good knowledge of structural sizing analyses’ techniques and concepts.
• Fluent in English.
• Good interpersonal skills to work within a diverse team, in rigorous and demanding projects, where analytical and critical thinking, as well as problem-solving skills are essential.
