Salary: $17.60/hour (plus 4% vacation pay as a benefit)

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Engagement Assistant supports the Communications and Fundraising teams with social media, donor engagement, and campaign activities. This includes assisting with content creation, tracking engagement, updating databases, and supporting events and fundraising initiatives.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, organized, detail-oriented and eager to learn in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, with a passion for data management, delivering great service, and supporting fundraising activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with data capture initiatives via social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Assist in developing a series of posts for each campaign to optimize engagement and reach.
Monitor social media channels for engagement, comments, and messages, and flag key interactions for the team.
Help maintain an organized social media content calendar and assist with populating the social media scheduling system.
Support the Communications team in the administration of stories, photos, and quotes for future use.
Track basic engagement metrics and support the preparation of simple performance reports.
Support the overall project to update communications and fundraising databases,
Support writing thank you letters, making thank you phone calls and logging these activities.
Assist fundraisers with various administrative tasks.
Support with Communications and Fundraising in organizing and hosting events
Contribute to creative thinking sessions around new fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Good organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Graphic design knowledge and video editing skills are desired.
Writing and editing skills will be advantageous.
Understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube to help customize posts for each platform.
Comfortable working collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
ELIGIBILITY:
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age.
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status in Canada.
Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
