We are currently looking for an Energy Trader to be responsible for executing trading strategies across multiple energy markets, including PTRs (Physical Transmission Rights), power, natural gas, EUAs (European Union Allowances), and Guarantees of Origin (GOs). The role aims to optimize the company’s energy portfolio, manage market risks, and capitalize on trading opportunities in both medium and long-term horizons. By actively participating in trading activities and market analysis, the energy trader will contribute to the profitability and strategic positioning of the energy portfolio. The role requires a good commercial mindset, technical expertise, and close collaboration with internal teams and external market participants to ensure efficient execution and alignment with business objectives.

What will you do:

• Use technical analysis, quantitative models, and market intelligence to propose trends and patterns in various energy commodities.
• Model energy markets and performs quantitative analysis in order to propose trading strategies in various energy commodities and cross-border physical transmission rights.
• Execute trades in PTRs, power, natural gas, EUAs, and GOs across European energy markets.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align trading activities and produce accurate market forecasts.
• Maintain and update trading systems, logs, and reports for transparency and audit purposes.
• Participate in auctions and bilateral negotiations for transmission rights and energy products.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with the Company’s framework and external regulatory requirements.
• Provide input to forecasting models and contribute to market analysis reports.
• Support the development of new trading products and market entry strategies.

What you need to be successful:

• A BSc in Engineering or Mathematics
• At least 2 years experience in the modelling of energy sector and 1 year in technical analysis
• Knowledge of energy market simulation software (Plexos, EPSI) and R/Python programming strongly preferred
• Good understanding of energy markets
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in technical analysis and commodity trading
• Novelty seeking mind-set
• Self-driven and motivated
• Experience in technical analysis
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions
