Position Summary
The Endocrinologist provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with disorders of the endocrine system. This role focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of hormonal and metabolic conditions using evidence-based medicine. The Endocrinologist works collaboratively with primary care providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders, including but not limited to diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, lipid disorders, and reproductive endocrine conditions.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory studies.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Provide ongoing management of chronic endocrine conditions, emphasizing patient education, lifestyle modification, and disease prevention.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to coordinate patient care and referrals.
• Monitor patient outcomes and treatment effectiveness, making appropriate modifications to care plans.
• Document all patient encounters, assessments, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and care coordination activities.
• Provide consultation services to other healthcare providers as requested.
• Adhere to organizational policies, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines.
Practice Environment
• May include outpatient clinics, hospital-based consult services, or a combination of settings depending on organizational needs.
• Supported by clinical staff, advanced practice providers, diabetes educators, and ancillary services as available.

Requirements:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.
• Completion of an accredited fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
• Current, unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in the practicing state.
