Job Description
Description:
As our End User Computing (EUC) Technical Lead, you will be the architectural anchor for our global internal systems. We build world-class military simulation software for allied forces, and our internal infrastructure must be as resilient as the products we ship.
You will oversee a complex stack across a distributed team spanning from Sweden to Australia. You are the person who ensures our hardware is standardized, our licenses are optimised, and our vulnerabilities are managed - all while maintaining the pragmatic "get it done" attitude required in a fast-paced development environment.
You’ll be working with teammates around the world. Fluency in English and the ability to work across time zones is essential.
You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty. When things break, you fix them. When the fix is temporary, you document the "technical debt" and ensure it's paid down.
While you are technically "hands-on," you have the maturity to lead projects, mentor junior staff, understand financial impact and communicate complex risks to stakeholders.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and technically guide a team of 6 engineers across Europe, the USA and Australia. Foster their technical growth, ensure adherence to best practices, and support their daily operational needs.

Proactively gather and articulate regional technical requirements and challenges, ensuring they are considered and incorporated into global architecture, platform, and operational standards.
Standard Adherence & Implementation: Accountable for the successful definition, implementation and strict adherence to global technical standards, policies, and best practices across the EUC estate. Develop and enforce procedures that deliver on global guidelines.
Operational Excellence & Support Oversight: Oversee the technical operations and support for all systems and services. Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of our infrastructure and applications, working as a hands-on technical expert.
Project & Initiative Delivery: Lead the technical execution of our projects and global technical initiatives, ensuring successful deployment and integration within each region's specific context.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution: Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex incidents and problems within the team, driving root cause analysis and implementing effective preventative measures.
Team Growth: Implement and oversee technical growth plans for team members, helping them understand their weaknesses and leverage their strengths. Provide regular reports on key metrics and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong relationships with our business units, regional leadership, and global teams. Clearly communicate technical strategies, operational status, and compliance adherence.
Vendor & Partner Management: Manage our technical vendors and service providers, ensuring their services align with global standards and regional needs
Objectives:
Achieve Seamless Global-Regional Alignment: Successfully integrate regional technical requirements into global standards while ensuring robust implementation and adherence to those standards within the region.
Ensure Operational Stability & Performance: Maintain agreed-upon Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for technical systems and services across each region, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
Drive Adoption of Good Practices: Lead the consistent definition, alteration and adoption of good EUC practices and behaviors among the team
Optimize Technical Resource Utilization: Implement strategies to efficiently utilize technical resources and manage operational costs.
Skills:
Deep Technical Domain Expertise: Hands-on knowledge in our organization's core systems, including VMWare, Linux, Windows server and Desktop, Azure, VPN and associated tools.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to guide, develop, and technically empower a small engineering team.
Cross-Cultural Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate and influence effectively across different cultures and global teams.
Global-Local Alignment: Skill in balancing regional needs with global standards, ensuring both advocacy and strict adherence.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) & Automation: Strong practical experience with IaC tools and scripting to drive and enforce automation.
