The Employee Movement Specialist will support seamless onboarding and internal movement experiences for employees within BMO U.S. Banking. Reporting to the Director of Employee Experience & Movement, this role will be a key member of the Employee Experience Team within U.S. Banking operations. This position combines strategic planning, operational execution, and cross-functional collaboration to manage new hire onboarding, internal promotions, and lateral movements. The Employee Movement Specialist will play a key role in enhancing the overall Employee Experience (EX) by ensuring all processes are efficient, employee-centered, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Employee Movement

• Manage end-to-end onboarding processes for new hires, from preboarding to their first 90 days.
• Partner with hiring managers to ensure all access, systems, and resources are aligned with the new hire’s or transitioning employee’s role.
• Oversee processes for internal movements, including lateral moves and promotions, ensuring operational excellence and smooth transitions.
• Act as a central point of contact for hiring managers to address any onboarding or movement-related issues.

Instructional Design & Resource Development

• Develop instructional materials, guides, and tools to support onboarding and internal movement processes.
• Apply instructional design principles to create engaging resources for hiring managers and new hires, such as job aids, checklists, and training modules.
• Continuously improve resources based on feedback and best practices.

Project Management

• Lead assigned projects to improve onboarding and internal movement processes as directed by the Employee Experience & Movement Leader.
• Utilize data insights to evaluate and enhance processes, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of employees and the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as HR and IT, to implement and streamline processes.

Strategic Planning

• Support the Employee Experience & Movement Leader in developing and executing strategies for onboarding and internal movement.
• Identify opportunities to scale processes for future integration with other business lines.
• Propose innovative solutions to enhance the employee experience and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills

• Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in instructional design, including developing resources, tools, and training materials.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Business acumen and strategic mindset focused on enhancing employee experience.
• Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
• Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
• Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with instructional design, public speaking, and delivering presentations.
• Familiarity with HR systems and processes, particularly in onboarding and internal movement.
• Data analysis skills to identify insights and recommend process improvements.

Education & Experience

• Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or talent development (e.g., APTD, CPTD) preferred.

Salary:

$45,000.00 - $83,000.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
