You will join the Client Experience Emerging Technology and Transformation team within the State Street Investment Management COO organization. This role is critical to defining and delivering the target-state platform that enables efficient, scalable, and high-quality client experiences.
Role Description
This role is for a technically strong developer with the ability to design, build, and evaluate AI-driven solutions end to end. The role includes hands-on Python development, integration with multiple large language models, and contribution to the evaluation of internal and external AI platforms and tools.
The individual will partner closely with architecture, AI and data, platform, and security teams to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready solutions aligned with enterprise transformation objectives.
This role emphasizes strong software engineering fundamentals, applied AI solution development, and technical assessment, with adherence to enterprise SDLC, security, and architecture standards.
Responsibilities
Hands-on Development and Engineering
• Design and build AI solutions using Python and modern AI frameworks.
• Develop integrations with multiple LLMs, orchestration layers, prompt management, and agent workflows.
• Write clean, testable, and secure code following enterprise SDLC standards.
AI Solution Evaluation and Assessment
• Evaluate and assess AI solutions, platforms, and tools available within and outside the organization.
• Perform comparative analysis of AI models, frameworks, and vendor offerings across capability, scalability, security, and risk.
SDLC, Architecture, and Quality
• Demonstrate solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Contribute to solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture, security guardrails, and regulatory expectations.
• Produce clear technical documentation, design artifacts, and implementation notes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with AI/Data, architecture, platform, and security teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical depth.
Core Skills and Qualifications
Technical and AI Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Python for application and AI solution development.
• Practical experience in developing Generative AI solutions. Familiarity with Agentic AI is a plus.
• Experience working with multiple Large Language Models and related tooling.
Engineering and Platform Skills
• Solid understanding of SDLC practices and enterprise-grade software engineering.
• Experience building cloud-native or modern application architectures.
• Familiarity with databases and data integration patterns.
• Experience using developer productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Professional Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills suited for enterprise environments.
Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical discipline.
• A few years of professional development experience with emphasis on Python and AI-driven solutions.
• Exposure to financial services or regulated environments is preferred but not required.
