Assist Ambulance is looking for Emergency Medical Technicians certified in New York State to join us full-time and part-time at our Bronx base! Assist is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of BLS and ALS emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. Assist has a proud 30 year history of providing emergency medical services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC. Assist Ambulance offers Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for various hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations. Emergency Medical Technicians are required to follow guidelines from the Department of Health - Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems, and Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of NYC protocols for Basic Life Support.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have an active NY State EMT-B card - NREMT card is not accepted alone
EMTs hired as drivers must be at least 20 years old with 1 years driving experience in New York City
Must have a valid New York State D Class driver’s license with no more than 6 points or 2 major moving violations
DJ licenses are not accepted
Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs. in accordance with the NYS DOH and pass a lifting assessment
Must be able to get 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test (vouchers provided)
Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screening
Must be able to commit to at least two 8-hour shifts per week that are the same days every week (steady shifts)
Per diem is not available at this time, only part time or full time steady scheduling
Must be good with people and able to act responsibly under extreme duress
Applicants' criminal history will be considered consistent with the requirements of the New York City Fair Chance Act
Must be able to attend three days of in-person pre-hire assessments to move forward to employment with driving assessments on a separate date
Job Attributes:
Weekly Payday with a .50 cent raise after 90 days for drivers, and 5% standard annual raises for all EMTs
