DroneShield is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with relevant experience to join the development team in Sydney. The primary focus of the role is to develop and maintain DroneShield’s Linux-based deployed sensors. It represents an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual in a new niche but exploding market.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

• Design, code and implementation of new software for a Linux target.
• Improve and maintain existing software platform.
• Implement new software features from concept to delivery.
• Assist with product testing and validation.
• Work with engineering team to ensure reliable and robust end to end system operation.
• Troubleshooting and testing.

• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. Particularly interested in Electronic and Communications Systems with emphasis on embedded Linux.
• Software development experience in one or more of the following; Python, C++ or C.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in related roles. Roles could include; Linux Embedded, System integration of Microcontrollers as supervisory to hardware architecture, Boot loaders, Regression testing, Test environment development.
• Knowledge of the following would also be essential:ARM Processors, Linus Driver Development, Linux kernel compiling.
