Job description:

ROLE AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Embedded Software Designer is responsible for all aspects of the embedded software development. Using the principles of software engineering and cyber security, he designs, develops and tests embedded software application that implements the functionalities defined by the product management.

Working closely with the embedded software designers, software architects, hardware designer and verification and validation, he or she will:

* Clarify product requirement if required;

* Design, develop, test and maintain software;

* Design, develop and maintain automated unit tests;

* Review design, code and test;

* Improve the tool set used to produce high quality and highly secure software (static analysis, dynamic analysis);

* Maintain continuous integration tools infrastructure;

* Estimate task effort;

* Make sure he understand end to end solution;

* Identify the good enough design and code based on business value, and project budget and timeline.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

* Graduate diploma in computer sciences, software engineering or equivalent;

* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role;

* Solid experience in Embedded or Real-time Development on Linux platform;

* Solid experience in Embedded Software Development in C and C++;

* Solid experience with GCC tools chain;

* Solid scripting skills: bash, awk, sed, perl, Python, Lua...;

* Solid knowledge of IP networking and IT security;

* Good knowledge of Linux device drivers development;

* Solid experience in Application Development mixing multiple languages;

* Solid experience in Multi-Threaded/Multi-Process applications;

* Solid experience in Asynchronous programming;

* Good knowledge of GIT source control;

* Bilingual (French / English).

* Inclined to use existing software instead of reinventing the wheel;

* Curious and passionate about software development;

* Interest in emerging technologies;

* Team player.

1. Bachelor's degree or Graduate diploma in computer sciences, software engineering or equivalent.
