LOCATION: This position will be located in London, ON.
JOB SUMMARY
The Modernization & New Construction Mechanic is responsible for installing, upgrading, and commissioning elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, ensuring compliance with local and national codes, and delivering high-quality workmanship throughout all phases of construction and modernization projects. The Mechanic represents ATTA Elevators with professionalism and integrity, maintaining a positive image on-site and with clients. This position reports directly to the Supervisor.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Construction Tasks
Perform pre-construction work, including site preparation and layout checks.
Work with construction teams to integrate elevator systems into new buildings.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
Modernization & Upgrades
Replace outdated mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical components with modern systems.
Retrofit elevators with updated safety devices, control systems, or energy-efficient technology.
Harmonize and standardize multiple elevator programs across entities to improve efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in elevator maintenance and repair.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must reside in the London, Ontario, area.
Must be on call rotation evening and weekends.
