Elementary Before & After School Program Area Lead - Gwinnett County

Our offerings include before- and after-school programming, seasonal camps, training and resources, and family and community events.

Position Summary:

The Before & After School Area Lead will oversee 2 Elementary School After School programs within Gwinnett County. The Area Lead will be assigned to a home school with a strong Assistant Director to support daily operations. The Area Lead will provide leadership, coaching, and support to 2 After School Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees each of their sites to ensure that the program is being operated in accordance with company policy and guidelines

Assists Site Directors in their area with problem solving and escalated concerns

Maintains confidentiality

Ensures that all sites in their area meet required deadlines

Conducts weekly site visits for Quality control and evaluation

Maintain consistent relationship and rapport with principals and administration

Plans upcoming meetings, events, trainings, or functions as directed

Provides additional support to other departments as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in before/after school programs, education, or youth development

Director’s Credential

Strong management, leadership and organizational skills

Bilingual (English & Spanish)

Effective communication, and problem-solving skills

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday

Morning Care: 6:45 AM - 9:00 AM

After Care: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, 1:30PM - 6:00PM (Wednesdays)

Pay: $20 per hour, paid biweekly.

Discover After School Seasonal Camp Opportunity Disclosure:

At Discover After School, our main employment period is from August to June, with seasonal camp opportunities available during breaks. Staffing for camps depends on student enrollment, so not all staff may work during seasonal camp breaks. We conduct a survey at the end of each season to determine who is interested in working seasonal camps.

Managers choose top counselors based on their work ethics and reliability, emphasizing factors like attendance and punctuality because camp is a full-day commitment and requires dependable staff. Additionally, we survey employees at the end of the school year to confirm who will return for the next school year. Returning employees are guaranteed a position with a good recommendation from their manager.
