Previously established and located in New Zealand since 2001, SailGP Technologies relocated to Southampton, UK in Spring 2024 at our new state of the art facility.

Summary:

SailGP Technologies is seeking a motivated Electronics Technician to join the high-performance electronics team. This role is focused on hands-on technical work, supporting the F50 fleet, product testing, and integration into SailGP’s wider technology projects.

Based in Southampton, with regular international event travel, you’ll gain exposure to leading-edge marine electronics while developing your skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

Assist with the build and assembly of F50 platforms and wings.

Contribute to the preparation and repair of spares packages.

Provide practical electronics support at SailGP international events, including yacht build, maintenance, and pack-down.

Projects: 

Support wider projects such as autonomous race marks and simulators.

Contribute to testing, integration, and basic troubleshooting

Collaboration:

Work closely with senior technicians and engineers to deliver high-quality, time-critical outputs.

Support day-to-day operations within the electronics department.

About you: 

Solid foundation in electronics with experience in marine or high-performance environments preferred.

Knowledge of wiring standards and marine electronics hardware is advantageous (System 25, Raychem, TE, Deutsch, adhesives).

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Good organisational and communication skills; able to work effectively in a team.

Eagerness to learn and develop 

Comfortable working in fast-paced, international event settings.

Willing to travel internationally to support SailGP events.
