Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and safety-driven Journeyperson Electrician to join our non-union team in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, replace, repair, and maintain electrical systems — including circuits, motors, low and high voltage systems, sub-panels, feeders, transformers, and lighting.
• Perform panel wiring and terminations per schematics: PLC I/O, instrumentation, relays, interlocks, contactors, VFD control, ethernet switches, and power supplies.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Inspect and verify all installations meet local and national electrical codes.
• Work closely with Project Managers and other team members to execute projects safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Use manual and powered tools confidently and safely.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, plans, and drawings accurately.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning.
• Support other trades and assist with a variety of on-site tasks as needed.
• Comfortable to work primarily in a shop environment, along with on location and off-site projects as required.
Solar & Renewable Energy Work
• Assemble and install solar racking, panels, and modules according to engineering layouts and specifications.
• Connect wiring, inverters, and related solar components.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair solar systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Conduct inspections and routine servicing for solar installations.
Skills and Trade Requirements
• Electrical Journeyperson certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.
• Willing to obtain a master certification in the future, will be considered an asset.
• CSA Solar Training - "Construction Electrician (NOC 7241) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Certified" - Considered an asset.
• Ability to program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs - considered an asset
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical certification or vocational training preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on Electrician experience (or equivalent expertise)
Work Environment
• Manufacturing or shop-floor environment
• Outdoor and/or field environment work as required
• Standing for extended periods; lifting and handling materials as required
• May involve shift work or overtime based on production needs
Position Information
• Located in the Edmonton Area
• Monday to Friday
• Full Time
• Must have valid driver's license & own reliable transportation
• Travel may be required
