Electrical Systems & Test Technician (Industrial / Controls)
Location: Henrico, VA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: Starting at $60,000+ (based on experience)
We are hiring an Electrical Systems & Test Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electromechanical equipment within a growing engineering and manufacturing environment in the Richmond area.
This position is well-suited for someone with hands-on experience in electrical systems, controls, and diagnostics who enjoys problem-solving and working in a dynamic, production-focused setting.
What You’ll Do:
• Perform electrical and functional testing on systems, assemblies, and components
• Set up and connect power, control, and communication wiring for test operations
• Use diagnostic tools to capture, interpret, and document test data
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, and electronic components
• Read and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents
• Maintain and calibrate testing tools and equipment to ensure reliability
• Support production schedules by prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
• Assist with RF shielding evaluation, testing, and repair work
• Work with three-phase power, motors, generators, relays, and control systems
• Support PLC troubleshooting and basic programming activities
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving VFDs and automated systems
What You Bring:
• At least 2 years of experience in electrical, electronic, or industrial control systems
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and analyzers
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation abilities
• Self-driven and able to work independently
Requirements:
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required
Nice to Have:
• Experience with PLC systems and relay-based controls
• Background in motor controls and generator systems
• RF testing or shielding repair experience
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Mechatronics training or technical certification
• Licensed electrician experience
